Audemars Piguet teams up with Travis Scott, the lucky loser of MAD1, the biggest DWW yet Before the holidays arrive, things tend to heat up before we calm down to hang out with family and welcome the new year. There have been some pretty big announcements this week, and I personally hope this is just the beginning before 2023 is over.

Lit: Audemars Piguet x Cactus Jack
Continuing the tradition of hip-hop collaborations born with Jay-Z, Audemars Piguet today announced a collaboration with artist and Cactus Jack founder Travis Scott. The Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Skeleton "Cactus Jack" Limited Edition features the iconic graphic cues of Scott's Cactus Jack brand and remixes the moon phase indication and dial font among other design changes. But what’s really special about this limited edition of 200 pieces is that it’s actually the first Royal Oak to be encased in brown ceramic, and the first Royal Oak complication to come on a calfskin strap. The strap looks nice, but I kind of wish they made a matching brown ceramic bracelet too. Notably, in addition to the watches, a collaborative collection of apparel and accessories will be available on the Travis Scott website, with a portion of the proceeds going to a charity of Scott’s choice.

MAD1, a sub-brand of MB&F, is highly coveted for its beautiful designs and the most affordable Max Büsser watches. The challenge, however, is that demand far exceeds the supply they can reasonably provide. Through the lottery, MAD Editions attempts to democratize the distribution of MAD1 as much as possible. In fact, after seeing how many entrants came away empty-handed without receiving a MAD1 Red, we held a second raffle to try and give more people a chance to get one from the second batch. A third draw was recently held for the new MAD1 Green, but once again MB&F only recognized a small percentage of those eager to get their hands on it. They by no means have to, but this week, in recognition of those persevering participants who entered all three draws but didn't win their allotment, MAD Editions decided to create a special edition just for those who struck out in all three draws .
